Even some religious persons and institutions have talked this language, saying that they cannot, in a pluralistic society impose their religious views on others. But the question whether an embryo or a fetus is a human being is not a dogma of religion. It is a fact of science. The humanity of the fetus is not derived from the Bible, it's in your college textbook in embryology.

The Science of Life

At 7 Weeks At 26 Weeks

Before conception, there is not a new human life. At the moment of conception, there is a new life possessing 46 chromosomes, distinct from both the mother and the father. Genetically, the baby is not part of the mother's body...it is a new life! The genetic blueprint that determines every detail of human development such as sex, height and eye color existed at the moment of conception. By 21 days, the first heartbeats have begun pumping the baby's own blood through a separate closed circulatory system with his own blood type. At 28 days, his eyes, ears and respiratory system begins to form. Most women do not yet even realize that they are pregnant. At 42 days brain waves are recorded, the skeleton is complete, and reflexes are present. By the 9th and 10th weeks, the thyroid and adrenal glands are functioning. By 12 or 13 weeks, he has fingernails, sucks his thumb and has his own unique fingerprints. At 16 weeks genital organs are clearly differentiated, the baby grasps with his hands, swims, kicks, and turns somersaults. At 18 weeks the vocal cords work and he can cry. The nervous system is developed by the end of the fifth month and the baby can feel pain. The only things that this developing life needs are time and nutrition. Source: M. Culture of Death

"Nothing has been as damaging to our cause as the advances in technology which have allowed pictures of the developing fetus, because people now talk about that fetus in much different terms than they did fifteen years ago. They talk about it as a human being, which is not something that I have an easy answer how to cure."

For 31 years, nine unelected men and women on the Supreme Court have played God with innocent human life. They have invented laws that condemned to painful deaths without trial more than 44 million babies for the crime of being "inconvenient".

When the Roe v Wade decision was handed down, the Supreme Court determined a "right to privacy". It did not declare abortion itself to be a constitutional right.

Instead the Supreme Court said: “We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins…the judiciary at this point in the development of man's knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer.” The High Court made a key admission: "If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellate's case (Roe, who sought an abortion) collapses ---for the fetus' right to life is then guaranteed by the 14th Amendment."

Life at Conception Act

Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave has indicated that the way to overturn Roe v. Wade is to petition our Senators and Congressmen as well as Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and House Speaker Dennis Hastert to help pass a "Life At Conception" Act. This would declare unborn children as persons entitled to legal protection as defined by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. This is the one thing the Supreme Court admitted in Roe v. Wade would cause the case for legal abortion to collapse.

The Life at Conception Act would formally guarantee unborn children’s right to life, as protected by the 14th Amendment. Please contact your elected officials, Senate Majority Leader and House Speaker and urge them to cast a vote for a Life at Conception Act and bring it to a full vote in the House and Senate.

Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act

Medical researchers have determined that before the end of the fifth month of pregnancy, unborn babies already have all the parts of the nervous system that enable them to feel excruciating pain when they are burned, torn apart and stabbed during abortions. A bill under consideration in Congress, The Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act (S. 2466, H.R. 4420), would require that any woman who seeks an abortion after this point must first be given accurate information about the capacity of her unborn child to experience pain. The bill would also require the mother to sign a form saying whether she wants to go forward with the abortion, and whether she will agree to have pain-reducing drugs given to her unborn baby.

What kind of pain can an unborn child feel?

Late Term Abortion

- Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps.
- The baby's leg is pulled out of the mother’s uterus into the birth canal.
- The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
- The abortionist stabs scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
- The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brain is suctioned out, causing the skull to collapse.
- The dead baby is then removed completely from its mother’s womb.
- This Partial Birth Abortion procedure is legal in all 50 states and performed even on full-term babies!

Salt Poisoning
- Otherwise known as "saline amniocentesis," "salting out," or a "hypertonic saline" abortion, this technique is used after 16 weeks of pregnancy.
- A needle is inserted through the mother’s abdomen and 50-250 ml (as much as a cup) of amniotic fluid is withdrawn and replaced with a solution of concentrated salt.
- The baby breathes in, swallowing the chemical, and is burned and poisoned.
- The chemical solution causes painful deterioration of the baby’s skin.
- Usually, after about an hour of torture, the child dies.
- The mother goes into labor about 33 to 35 hours after instillation and delivers a dead, burned, and shriveled baby.

D&E
- Using ultrasound, the abortionist grasps the baby's body parts at random with a long-toothed clamp.
- The legs and arms are pulled from the baby's body and out of the vaginal canal.
- The remaining parts of the baby are grasped and pulled out.
- The head is grasped and crushed in order to remove it from the vaginal canal. The placenta and remaining contents are suctioned from the uterus.

Abortifacients masked as "Contraception"

A true contraceptive is a drug or device that prevents the conception of a child from happening at all. Most methods of birth control on the market today are not true contraceptives, but act as abortifacients instead. The IUD does not inhibit conception, but rather irritates the womb to such a degree that the already conceived child dies.

Hormonal birth control: the Pill, Norplant, Depo Provera, the Patch and similar methods, fail to prevent a woman’s ovulation in up to 75% of cycles. A child may be conceived in any of these fertile cycles. These hormonal methods of birth control impoverish the lining of the womb to such a degree that the newly conceived baby is unable to implant in the uterine wall and dies. Spermicides, designed to kill a man’s seed, occasionally damage the sperm cells instead, leaving them defective. This can lead to the conception of a defective child. Frequently, such a pregnancy will end early, in what appears to be a miscarriage, though it is in actuality a chemically induced abortion. If an unborn child survives any of the deadly attacks on his life, he will be at risk for birth defects.

Destructive Psychological Experience of Elective Abortion

Women and men experiencing abortion aftermath may exhibit: nightmares, frequent crying, feelings of anger, increased use of alcohol or drugs, feeling out of control, trouble with relationships, flashbacks of an abortion experience, confusion concerning subsequent pregnancies and repeat abortions. Lost Fatherhood and the Male Response to Abortion

Among 1,050 men interviewed in a Los Angeles Times poll, seven percent acknowledged having been the father of an aborted child. Guilt was felt by almost two-thirds and regret by more than one-third. Fathers suffer the same symptoms as women such as anxiety, grief, shame, guilt, anger, etc. In addition men can experience physical illnesses of a psychosomatic nature such as high blood pressure, ulcers,migraine headaches, substance abuse and panic attacks.

Casualties

The National Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. is a shiny black wall that stretches 492 feet and lists the names of the 58,022 known Americans killed in that war. If such a wall listed the names of children killed by abortion since 1973, the wall would be about 60 miles long! The casualties of all of our U.S. wars put together, do not equal the casualties from U.S. abortions performed in a SINGLE YEAR.
