Deacon Augie's Visitation and Funeral Mass

Our Lady of the Rosary received word of the passing of our beloved Deacon Augustin “Augie” Ortiz, 87. He passed on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. 

Deacon Augie was ordained on June 8, 1991 for the Diocese of St. Petersburg by Bishop John C Favalora. His only assignment was Our Lady of the Rosary, where he served until he retired in 2018. His wife, Frances died May of 2020 after 64 years of marriage. The have 3 sons Jonathan, David(deceased) and Daniel.

The services for Deacon Augie will take place at our parish, located at 2348 Collier Parkway, Land O’Lakes, FL 34639.

• Visitation will take place on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Evening Prayer.
• The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:30 am, with a viewing starting at 9:00 am. Monsignor Aubin will be the Main Celebrant and Homilist.

Deacon Augie's burial will take place at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa FL 33592.

All expressions of sympathy may be sent to John Ortiz, 31822 Tally Ho Lane, Wesley Chapel, FL 33543. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to donate in memory of Deacon Augie Ortiz to either 

1.  Our Lady of the Rosary - Healing Ministry, Music Ministry or Spanish Ministry
2.  St. Vincent De Paul
